Movie Time 2

About  a year ago I wrote my first movie time blogpost, so I decided it was about time for another movie time blogpost. I've seen many movies over the past couple of months and today I am sharing three of these movies with you.

The Age of Adaline
The Age of Adaline tells the story of Adeline Bowman, a woman born in 1908. Due to an accident followed by a miraculous event, Adeline stopped aging at the age of 29. To avoid suspicion Adeline is forced to change her identity every couple of years. Adeline lives a lonely live with her daughter, who is now old enough to pass as Adeline's grandma, being the only person who knows Adeline's secret. Until she meets Ellis, a young man, at a party and everything changes.

My opinion:
This was such a mesmerizing movie. The storyline might not be the most exciting but the acting in this movie by Blake Lively was exquisite. I immediately believed that Adeline was born in 1908 due to her classiness and sophistication. I also really liked that this movie showed, that the ideal of staying young forever, might not be as amazing as we would like to think it is. This movie is a must-watch. You just have to see it, to understand how beautiful it is.

The Intern
The intern tells the story of Ben Whittaker a 70-year-old retired man, who finds his life after retirement rather boring. He applies to the senior intern program at About the Fit, an online fashion company run by Jules Ostin. Jules is not too happy with the program but Ben is more than happy to have a purpose in his life again. Ben soon becomes a hit with the other employees in the company and Jules is forced to give Ben another change, which creates a special bond between the two of them.

My opinion:
I really enjoyed this movie. The storyline is really funny and cute and it's a perfect feel good movie. I also really liked the modern setting of this movie with a young woman running a successful online company. But what I liked best about this movie is that it actually made me think about people who are retired and might lack a purpose in their life. Maybe companies should indeed higher senior citizens as interns.

The Theory of Everything
The Theory of Everything tells the life of scientist Stephen Hawking. Stephen who attended Cambridge University, falls in love with Jane during his studies. Their happiness however doesn't last long once Stephen is diagnosed with motor neuron disease, which affects every muscle in his body and gives him a life expectancy of two years. This news changes everything for the new couple.

My opinion:
This was a very honest movie. Yes, it showed love and hope but it also showed struggle and pain. The movie is based on the life of Stephen Hawking and as with anyone's real story, Stephen's life is filled with ups and downs. This movie is definitely worth a watch but keep in mind, that it is a heavier movie and not a feel good movie like for example the Intern.

Which one of these three movies will you watch or did you already watch? and did you like it?
